Quick Summary

National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2026 Re-examination date as 21 June 2026. The window to update the exam city is open until 21 May 2026.

NEET UG 2026 – Overview

Against the backdrop of the recent cancellation of the May 3 exam due to reported irregularities, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched the NEET UG 2026 re-examination schedule for undergraduate medical admissions across India. Applications for updating the preferred exam city are open at neet.nta.nic.in between 15 May and 21 May 2026. Candidates with a Class 12 qualification in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are eligible to participate. There is no additional application fee required for making these updates or for appearing in the re-exam.

In the previous cycle, over 20 lakh candidates appeared for the medical entrance; the 2026 drive sees over 23 lakh applicants, marking a significant increase in national competition for limited MBBS and BDS seats.

📋 Context: The original NEET UG 2026 examination held on 3 May was cancelled following investigative reports of a paper leak and other irregularities. With the approval of the Government of India, the NTA has scheduled this re-test for 21 June 2026 to ensure a transparent and fair evaluation for all aspirants, while completely waiving any fresh examination fees.
