CSBC Bihar Police Constable 2026 – What Appearing Candidates Should Know
The CSBC written examination comprises 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions for 100 marks, with a duration of 2 hours. As per Appendix 103 of the Bihar Police Manual, the syllabus aligns with the 10th (Matriculation) standard. It covers Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), and General Science. Crucially, the OMR-based test does not feature negative marking, allowing candidates to attempt all questions safely without penalization for incorrect answers.
Candidates must score a minimum of 30% marks in the written exam to qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). However, the written exam is purely qualifying in nature; it acts solely as an elimination round. The final merit list is determined exclusively by the marks obtained in the PET events, which comprise Running, High Jump, and Shot Put (Gola Fek). Excellent physical performance is the definitive metric for final selection.
Appointees across these three specialized cadres—Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder, and Mobile Squad—are placed in Pay Level 3 of the 7th CPC. With a basic pay of ₹21,700 and the inclusion of state allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Medical/Ration allowances, the initial in-hand salary typically ranges between ₹30,000 and ₹35,000 per month. Electronic devices, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and smartwatches are strictly banned at the exam center; carrying them will lead to immediate disqualification and legal action under the Bihar Public Examination Act, 2024.
