IMU CET 2026 Admit Card – Overview

The gateway to the Merchant Navy is formally open. The Indian Maritime University (IMU) has officially released the Admit Card for the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026 on 19 May 2026. Candidates who applied for various Undergraduate (B.Tech, B.Sc, DNS) and Postgraduate (M.Tech, MBA) maritime programs between 05 February and 24 April 2026 can now download their hall tickets from the official portal. The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the exam hall. Follow these steps to download your hall ticket securely:

3. Access the Login Page: Click on the direct link for "Download IMU CET Admit Card 2026".
4. Enter Credentials: Log in using your registered User ID (Application Number) and Password generated during registration.
5. Download the Hall Ticket: Your admit card displaying the exam center, shift timing, and roll number will appear.

IMU CET 2026 – What Appearing Candidates Should Know

The IMU CET for Undergraduate courses is conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) lasting for 3 hours (180 minutes). The question paper consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) distributed across six subjects: English (40 questions), General Aptitude (40 questions), Mathematics (50 questions), Physics (50 questions), and Chemistry (20 questions). Unlike many other competitive exams, there is generally no negative marking in the IMU CET, allowing candidates to attempt all questions without penalty.

Post the examination, IMU will release the results in the form of a Rank Card. Securing a rank is merely the first step; candidates must then participate in the centralized IMU Online Counseling to secure admission into IMU's own campuses (located in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi). Alternatively, candidates can use their IMU CET rank to apply directly to various Affiliated Maritime Training Institutes (MTIs) across the country.

Graduates of B.Tech Marine Engineering join ships as Junior/Trainee Marine Engineers, while B.Sc Nautical Science and DNS graduates join as Deck Cadets.
