Five years of uncertainty — and now a firm date. Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has officially cancelled the Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) / Platoon Commander Recruitment Examination 2021 following a recommendation by the Rajasthan state government and binding court orders, and has announced the re-exam date as 20 September 2026. The re-exam will be conducted for the originally notified 859 posts of Sub-Inspector (AP, IB, MBC) and Platoon Commander. RPSC Chairperson Utkal Ranjan Sahoo has confirmed that only 3,83,097 candidates who appeared in both Paper I and Paper II of the original exam held from 13–15 September 2021 are eligible for the re-exam. No fresh applications will be accepted. ⚠️ Critical Alert — Correction Window: The application correction window opens 16 May 2026 — just 4 days from today. Even if you have no corrections to make, you are required to open your application form and complete final submission via OTP verification. Candidates who do NOT complete this OTP step will not receive an admit card for the re-exam.
Why Was the RPSC SI 2021 Exam Cancelled?
The RPSC SI Recruitment Examination 2021 became one of the most controversial police recruitment cases in Rajasthan's recent history. The following sequence of events led to the final cancellation and re-exam announcement:
- Allegations of paper leak, impersonation, and dummy candidates surfaced shortly after the original written exam (13–15 September 2021). The Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) initiated investigations, leading to the arrest of several trainee sub-inspectors who had been selected.
- On 28 August 2025, a Single Bench of the Rajasthan High Court delivered a verdict cancelling the SI Recruitment 2021 process, citing compromise of the exam's sanctity and fairness.
- On 4 April 2026, a Division Bench of the Rajasthan High Court upheld the Single Bench order, confirming the cancellation.
- The selected trainee SIs challenged the Division Bench order in the Supreme Court of India. The Supreme Court declined to interfere, effectively allowing the High Court's cancellation order to stand.
- Following this, the Rajasthan state government formally recommended a fresh examination to RPSC.
- RPSC issued the re-exam notice on 8 May 2026, cancelling the entire 2021 process and announcing the re-exam for 20 September 2026.
RPSC has clarified that the re-examination will be conducted strictly as per the original advertisement dated 3 February 2021 and its corrigendum dated 7 June 2021. The exam pattern will remain unchanged. Enhanced security arrangements at exam centres are expected to prevent recurrence of any malpractice.

How to Complete the Correction / OTP Submission
- Complete OTR KYC First: Before accessing the application correction link, candidates must ensure their OTR (One Time Registration) profile on sso.rajasthan.gov.in is KYC-verified. The updated live photograph, signature, and thumb impression saved in OTR will automatically populate into the application form.
- Login to SSO Portal: Visit sso.rajasthan.gov.in and log in with your SSO ID and password. Navigate to the RPSC application section for SI/Platoon Commander Recruitment 2021.
- Open Your Application Form: Open the existing submitted application form for RPSC SI 2021. Whether you need to make changes or not, you must open this form and proceed to the final submission step.
- Make Any Required Corrections: If you need to update mobile number, email, or address, make the changes at this stage. Leave other fields unchanged.
- Complete Final OTP Submission (Mandatory for ALL): Submit the application form using OTP verification. This step is compulsory for every eligible candidate — even those making no corrections. Without OTP submission, your name will not be linked to the re-exam and you will not receive the admit card.
- Save the Acknowledgement: After successful OTP submission, download and save the updated acknowledgement form for future reference.
⚠️ Do Not Skip OTP Submission: RPSC has explicitly clarified in the official notice that candidates who do not complete the OTP-based final submission during the correction window will not be issued admit cards for the re-exam, regardless of their original eligibility. This is a mandatory compliance step — not optional even for candidates with no corrections.
Who Is Eligible for the RPSC SI 2021 Re-Exam?

Enhanced Security for the Re-Exam
RPSC and the Rajasthan government are expected to implement significantly stricter examination security measures for the 20 September 2026 re-exam, given the scale of the paper leak controversy in the 2021 cycle. These are anticipated to include biometric verification at exam centres, CCTV surveillance, jammers, and frisking. Candidates are advised to carry only the admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre, and to arrive at least 45–60 minutes before the exam start time to accommodate enhanced security checks.
