RPSC PGT Teacher 2025 – What Appearing Candidates Should Know
The RPSC School Lecturer examination is a highly rigorous written test comprising two primary papers. Paper-I (General Awareness and General Studies) carries 150 marks (75 questions) and lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Paper-II (Subject Concerned) carries 300 marks (150 questions) and lasts for 3 hours. Candidates must be exceptionally careful, as negative marking is applicable; 1/3rd of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
Appointments to the 1st Grade Teacher (School Lecturer) post are highly coveted. Selected candidates are placed under Pay Matrix Level 12 of the 7th CPC (Rajasthan), which correlates to a substantial starting basic pay. Following a mandatory two-year probation period (during which a fixed remuneration is paid), the gross monthly salary escalates significantly, incorporating standard state allowances like DA and HRA, reflecting the senior gazetted status of the role within the state education department.
Following the written examination, the RPSC will release provisional answer keys, allowing a brief window for objections. The final selection is purely merit-based on the combined scores of Paper I and Paper II, subject to successful document verification verifying Master's degree credentials and B.Ed qualifications before final posting allotments.
