UP Police Home Guard 2025 – What Shortlisted Candidates Should Know
Candidates who have qualified the written examination are now summoned for the Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST). During this phase, recruiting officers will strictly verify your original identity proofs, age proofs (10th marksheet), educational certificates, and category/domicile certificates (OBC/SC/ST/EWS) issued by competent UP authorities.
Simultaneously, the PST will measure physical attributes. Male candidates generally must meet a minimum height requirement of 168 cm (160 cm for ST) and specific chest expansion criteria (79-84 cm). Female candidates generally require a minimum height of 152 cm (147 cm for ST) and a minimum weight of 40 kg. Failing either the document authentication or the physical measurements will result in immediate disqualification.
Following successful DV/PST, candidates will proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which involves a timed running event. Final merit lists are aggregated post-PET. Appointed UP Police Home Guards do not receive a standard pay-scale like regular constables; instead, they are paid a highly regulated daily duty allowance (honorarium) which amounts to approximately ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 per month depending on the number of days deployed, along with other state-mandated benefits.
