How to Download UPSC CMS 2026 Admit Card – Step by Step
Candidates must download the e-Admit Card exclusively from the official UPSC web portal. The commission does not dispatch physical copies by post.
- Visit the Online Portal: Navigate to the UPSC applications website at upsconline.nic.in.
- Locate the Admit Card Link: Click on "e-Admit Cards for Various Examinations of UPSC".
- Select the Exam: Choose the link corresponding to the "Combined Medical Services Examination, 2026".
- Enter Login Details: Read the technical instructions, agree to the terms, and log in using either your Registration ID (RID) or Roll Number along with your Date of Birth.

UPSC CMS 2026 – What Appearing Candidates Should Know
Medical Officers appointed through the UPSC CMS 2026 exam are placed in Pay Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a starting basic pay of ₹56,100. A major financial benefit unique to government medical officers is the Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) calculated at 20% of basic pay. When combined with DA, HRA, and TA, the initial in-hand salary for a fresh ADMO or CHS officer ranges approximately between ₹95,000 and ₹1,05,000 depending on the posting city classification.
The Computer Based Test on 02 August 2026 consists of two objective papers, each carrying 250 marks and allowing 2 hours. Paper I focuses intensively on General Medicine and Paediatrics (120 questions). Paper II covers Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine (120 questions). Candidates must be vigilant, as a negative marking penalty of 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. The competition is steep, as only those who clear the written cutoff will proceed to the 100-mark Personality Test (Interview).
