UPTET 2026 Admit Card – Overview

The examination date for UPTET 2026 is fast approaching. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has scheduled the Primary and Junior Level written tests from 02 July to 04 July 2026 across 955 centers in the state. With the exam just days away, candidates can now download their admit cards from the official portal at admitcards.upessc.org. The minimum qualification required to appear is a Bachelor's degree coupled with a recognized teaching diploma or B.Ed. The application fee was ₹1,000 for General/OBC candidates, while SC/ST applicants paid ₹500.

In the previous major cycle (2021), approximately 21.65 lakh candidates applied for the exam — the 2026 drive marks a slight decrease with 19.94 lakh total registered applicants.

How to Download UPTET 2026 Admit Card – Step by Step

1. Visit the Portal: Open the official UPESSC admit card website at admitcards.upessc.org.
2. Select Exam Link: Click on the active link for UPTET 2026 Admit Card download on the homepage.
3. Enter Credentials: Input your registration number (or mobile number), date of birth, and the displayed security captcha code.
4. View Hall Ticket: Click submit to view your examination center, shift timing, and reporting instructions.
5. Print Document: Download the PDF and take a clear printout, as candidates without a valid printed admit card will be denied entry.

UPTET 2026 – What Appearing Candidates Should Know

The UPTET 2026 examination will be conducted completely in offline (OMR-based) mode. Both Paper I (for Primary Level) and Paper II (for Upper Primary Level) consist of 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks. Candidates are given exactly 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete the test. Crucially, there is no negative marking for incorrect responses, encouraging candidates to attempt all questions without penalty.

The exam runs in two daily shifts across the state: Shift 1 from 09:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and Shift 2 from 02:30 PM to 05:00 PM. Candidates must reach the exam center with a printed copy of the UPTET admit card and a valid original photo ID proof. The UPTET certificate is a qualifying credential valid for a lifetime, making successful candidates eligible to apply for future state government teaching vacancies, including the anticipated Super TET.
