Only candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence) will have their Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension) evaluated. Qualified candidates will then be called for the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests, which are strictly conducted by a Nodal Authority (such as CRPF or ITBP).

Candidates should immediately begin preparing for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is a mandatory qualifying stage. Male candidates must complete a 100-meter race in 16 seconds, an 800-meter race in 3 minutes 45 seconds, a 3.5-meter long jump, and a 4.5-meter shot put (7.26 kg). Female candidates are required to complete a 100-meter race in 18 seconds, an 800-meter race in 4 minutes 45 seconds, and a 3-meter long jump. Strict height (165 cm for males, 157 cm for females) and chest requirements are enforced before the PET begins.

Final appointment is contingent upon clearing the 150-mark Personality Test (Interview) and comprehensive medical clearance. Appointed Assistant Commandants are placed in Pay Level-10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500) and will be deployed across BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, or SSB based on their final merit ranking and preferences.
