To appear for the NORCET exam, candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing and registered as a Nurse & Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council. OR
  • Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing and registered as a Nurse & Midwife. OR
  • Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) and registered as a Nurse & Midwife, along with exactly 2 Years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.

GNM candidates must ensure that their 2 years of clinical experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital is acquired after completing the diploma and registering with the State/Indian Nursing Council. Experience gained before formal registration is typically not counted for NORCET eligibility.
