HSSC CET Group D 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit for HSSC CET Group D 2026
The age limit for HSSC CET Group D 2026 is 18 to 42 years for General/EWS candidates as on 03 July 2026, with extra relaxation available for reserved categories.
| Category | Minimum Age | Maximum Age |
|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | 18 years | 42 years |
| SC / BC / Unmarried Women / Widow / PwBD | 18 years | 47 years (+5 relaxation) |
| Combined-category / Ex-Servicemen cases | Up to 52 years, as per Haryana Govt. instructions dated 25 March 2022 | |
Age relaxation as per Haryana Government instructions dated 25 March 2022.
Educational Qualification
Group D Posts (General): Class 10th (Matriculation) pass from any recognized Board in India, with Hindi or Sanskrit studied as a subject up to Matric level.
Sweeper / Chowkidar / Sweeper-cum-Chowkidar posts: A separate, lower qualification standard applies and will be notified along with post-wise vacancy details.
Candidates should note that HSSC will publish post-specific educational qualifications only when it releases the post-wise vacancy list after the CET — applying now only confirms eligibility to sit the CET itself, not a guarantee of qualification match for every Group D post. Candidates without an Aadhaar card can still apply, but they fall into the higher ₹1,000 "standard fee" bracket regardless of category, so linking Aadhaar before applying is the cheaper route.
HSSC CET Group D 2026 – Pay Scale & Salary
At Pay Level DL of the Haryana 7th Pay Commission matrix, a newly selected Group D employee starts with a basic pay of ₹16,900. Adding Dearness Allowance (currently around 53% of basic) and House Rent Allowance (20% for most postings), gross pay works out to roughly ₹29,000 per month; after standard Provident Fund and NPS deductions, the expected in-hand salary lands around ₹24,700 – ₹29,200, before any post-specific special pay that some Group D roles carry on top of this base.
HSSC CET Group D 2026 – Selection Process
| Stage | Component |
|---|---|
| 1 | Common Eligibility Test (CET) – Written Exam (100% weightage) |
| 2 | Category-wise Merit List by HSSC |
| 3 | Advertisement of Vacant Group D Posts (released separately) |
| 4 | Online Willingness / Consent by Shortlisted Candidates |
| 5 | Document Verification |
| 6 | Final Allocation & Appointment by Concerned Department |
Selection for HSSC CET Group D 2026 begins and ends with the CET written exam — a 100-mark, 100-question offline OMR test that candidates clear once, after which HSSC builds a category-wise merit list valid for 3 years from the result date. Departments separately advertise their actual Group D vacancies against this merit pool; shortlisted candidates submit online willingness for available posts, undergo Document Verification, and are then allocated to a department. Because the socio-economic 5% weightage has now been removed, a candidate's CET score alone — with no scope for additional category-based bonus marks — decides their final rank; there is no separate interview round.
