In addition, 20% of posts are horizontally reserved for eligible employees working on a contract basis for at least 5 years.

Because writ petitions related to OBC reservation are pending before the Madhya Pradesh High Court, the selection result will be declared in two parts — a main (final) result for 87% of posts, and a provisional (temporary) result for the remaining 13% of posts. Candidates are advised to check the official advertisement PDF for the exact category-wise vacancy count, as the sequencing of figures in the source table could not be clearly verified.

MP High Court Assistant Grade-3 2026 – Selection Process

The selection process will be completed in two stages — an online preliminary exam in the first stage, followed by a Hindi typing skill test in the second stage. Final selection will be based on category-wise merit drawn from performance in both stages.

Stage 1: Online Preliminary Exam – Pattern

The preliminary exam will consist of multiple-choice (MCQ) questions. It will carry a maximum of 100 marks, with 1 mark for each question, and the exam duration will be 120 minutes (2 hours).

SubjectNo. of QuestionsMarksMedium
General Knowledge + General Studies (including MP GK)2020Hindi & English
Mathematics + Reasoning2020Hindi & English
General Hindi2020Hindi
General English2020English
Computer Knowledge2020English

The preliminary exam may be conducted at centres such as Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Sagar, Satna, and Ujjain, in one or, if required, more than one shift. If more than one shift is held, question papers will differ across shifts.

Preliminary Exam Result & Merit Ratio

The preliminary exam is for screening purposes only — marks obtained in it will not be added to the final result. Candidates will be declared successful for the Hindi typing skill test in each category at a ratio of 1:5 (i.e., roughly 5 candidates per post, including all candidates scoring equal to the cut-off marks, even if this pushes the number above the stated ratio). Objections to the proposed model answers will be accepted only offline, within 7 days of result publication, in the prescribed format — objections sent via email or any other medium will not be considered.

Stage 2: Hindi Typing Skill Test – Pattern

Candidates declared successful for the skill test must first send their documents by the prescribed date; only candidates found eligible after document verification will be called for the skill test. A separate online portal fee of ₹743.40 will be payable to appear for the skill test.

Hindi Typing (approx. 350 words)5010 minutes
  • Typing must be done in the Remington Gail layout only, and the test will be conducted in unrestricted mode.
  • During typing, the Delete key, Arrow keys, and Mouse will be disabled — only the Backspace key can be used for corrections.
  • Evaluation will be based on typing speed (NWPM) and accuracy as per parameters set by CPCT — 0.50 marks will be deducted for every missed word and every error, and 0.10 marks for every blank space.
  • Space equal to only 350 words will be available — typing any word/sentence two or more times will be treated as a mistake, and no extra space will be given for further typing.
