Candidates applying for SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the following eligibility conditions regarding age, educational qualification, and local language proficiency. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
Age Limit for SBI Apprentice 2026
The SBI Apprentice 2026 age limit is calculated as on 1 April 2026. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2 April 1998 and not later than 1 April 2006 (both days inclusive). Standard Government of India age relaxation applies for reserved categories.

Educational Qualification for SBI Apprentice 2026
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognised university or institution, or any equivalent qualification approved by the Central or State Government. The degree must be completed on or before the last date of the online application — 8 June 2026.
Local Language Proficiency
Candidates applying for vacancies in a particular state must be proficient in the specified local language of that state — including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Candidates who have studied the specified local language at Class 10th or Class 12th level (as evidenced by their marksheet or certificate) are exempted from the Local Language Test. Candidates who cannot prove prior study must appear for the language test after qualifying the written examination.
SBI Apprentice 2026 – Stipend & Pay Scale
The SBI Apprentice 2026 engagement is governed under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and is a training program — not a regular employment post. Selected candidates receive a fixed monthly stipend, not a salary with standard allowances.
The ₹15,000 monthly stipend is paid directly into the apprentice's bank account for the entire one-year engagement period. Unlike permanent SBI employees — Clerks or Probationary Officers — who receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other perks, apprentices are not eligible for any such additional benefits. The stipend is the sole financial compensation during the training year. However, the programme carries significant career value: apprentices who complete the year successfully and clear the skill evaluation test (Trade Test) receive a joint National Apprenticeship Certificate from SBI and NSDC/BFSI-SSC, and are eligible for weightage or relaxation in subsequent SBI Junior Associate (Clerk) recruitment drives, as per the bank's prevailing policy at the time.

SBI Apprentice 2026 – Exam Syllabus & Paper Pattern
The SBI Apprentice 2026 online written test consists of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions across four sections, each carrying 25 marks with a separate time limit of 15 minutes. The total duration is 60 minutes. Questions are bilingual (English and Hindi) except for the General English section. There is negative marking: 1/4th of the mark assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer; no penalty applies for unanswered questions.
