Bihar Free JEE-NEET Coaching 2026 โ Why This Scheme Matters
Private JEE and NEET coaching in India commonly costs anywhere from tens of thousands to several lakh rupees over one or two years, putting it out of reach for many families in smaller towns and rural Bihar. By running the coaching through BSEB directly inside government school infrastructure, the state is aiming to remove that cost barrier entirely for selected talented students.
This is not BSEB's first attempt at free entrance-exam coaching. The board has separately run a two-year residential-style coaching scheme (commonly known as BSEB Super 50) since late 2025 across nine divisional districts, including Patna, Muzaffarpur and Gaya, which also carries a monthly scholarship for selected students. The programme launched on 16 July 2026 is a distinct, additional initiative โ an online, model-school-based model centred on Patna's 10 selected schools โ rather than a replacement for the existing scheme.
The coaching push is bundled with a wider digital-education rollout: the Smart Class initiative gives students in Classes 9 to 12 access to live expert-led lessons, e-notes, recorded video lectures and regular mock tests, while the seven new NGO partnerships bring additional support in STEM education, foundational literacy and numeracy, and AI-linked learning tools. Together, officials say the goal is to make sure a student's zip code or family income doesn't decide whether they get a real shot at cracking JEE or NEET.
