SIDH Portal vs NCVT MIS Portal — Which One Should You Actually Use?
A lot of confusion around this result comes from candidates not realising there are two separate official government portals involved, and both work slightly differently. Neither is fake or unofficial — they're run by the same authority, but built for different purposes.
| Portal | What It's Actually For |
|---|---|
| Skill India Digital Hub (skillindiadigital.gov.in) | Your personal trainee dashboard — login with PRN and DOB to view results, download marksheets and certificates, and manage your training profile |
| NCVT MIS (ncvtmis.gov.in) | The examination management system — used for "Marksheet Verification" by entering your Roll Number/Registration Number, and for institutes/examiners to manage exam data |
In practice, most trainees only need the Skill India Digital Hub to view and download their result. The NCVT MIS portal becomes useful mainly if you need to verify a marksheet's authenticity later — for a job application or further studies — since its "Marksheet Verification" tool cross-checks the document against NCVT's central records.
How to Check NCVT ITI Result 2026 – Step by Step
- Visit the Skill India Digital Hub at skillindiadigital.gov.in and log in.
- Enter your PRN Number and Date of Birth in the login fields.
- Open "Trainee Details" from the dashboard menu.
- Click the three-dot menu and select "View Result."
- Check your subject-wise marks and overall pass/fail status on screen.
- Download your marksheet in PDF format and save a copy for your records.
What Exactly Is a PRN Number?
If this is your first NCVT exam, the login field asking for a "PRN Number" can be confusing. PRN stands for Permanent Registration Number, and for result-checking purposes it is generally entered as the letter "R" followed by your Roll Number — for example, if your roll number is 123456, your PRN would typically be R123456. Your exact PRN and roll number are both printed on your CBT and practical exam hall tickets, so keep those admit cards handy rather than guessing the format.
Passing Criteria & What Happens After the Result
To pass an NCVT ITI trade examination, a trainee must score at least 40% marks in each individual subject or module, not just 40% overall — scoring well in one paper does not offset a below-40% score in another.
Once you've confirmed your result, the printed marksheet and NCVT certificate are usually issued a few weeks later. Trainees can collect the original documents from their respective ITI institute once the authority formally releases them, or download the digital PDF version directly from their Skill India Digital Hub dashboard in the meantime.
If you spot an error in your marks or personal details, don't wait — NCVT's grievance registration window for this result is open only from 17 to 31 August 2026. Corrections requested after this window closes are typically not entertained until the next examination cycle.
