UPSC IES/ISS 2026 – What Happens After the Result
Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the UPSC IES/ISS 2026 written result are provisionally shortlisted for the Personality Test. UPSC typically requires shortlisted candidates to submit a Detailed Application Form (DAF) online ahead of the interview and to carry original certificates — age proof, educational qualification, and category proof — to the Personality Test venue. E-summon letters for the interview are issued separately, closer to the scheduled date.
UPSC IES/ISS 2026 – What Qualified Candidates Should Know
IES officers selected in this cycle are typically posted to the economic and statistical wings of central ministries such as Finance and NITI Aayog, while ISS officers are posted to statistical divisions across various central government departments.
The Personality Test carries 200 marks and evaluates a candidate's analytical thinking, subject awareness, and overall suitability for the cadre, in addition to the 1,000 marks already scored in the written papers. The final merit list is prepared only after this stage, so qualifying the written result is not itself a selection — it is an entry into the interview round.
