UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Important Dates & Full Schedule

Important note: No application fee will be accepted after 29 September 2026. Candidates who submit the fee by 29 September 2026 must complete the bank-side fee adjustment within a maximum of 7 days — i.e. by 06 October 2026 — only after which the application printout becomes available.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Vacancy Details (Post-wise)

The Livestock Extension Officer post under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry carries Pay Level-5 (minimum ₹29,200 – maximum ₹92,300). The category-wise breakdown of advertised posts is as follows (direct recruitment, vertical reservation):

Horizontal Reservation

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Application Fee

Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, and Outstanding Sportsperson candidates also pay fee according to their own vertical category. Note that the Mains exam fee will be paid separately, only by shortlisted candidates, and this payment must be completed before downloading the Mains admit card. Payment is valid only through Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI or SBI e-Challan.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Pre-condition: PET-2025 is Mandatory

Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 (PET-2025) and were issued a PET-2025 scorecard by the Commission can apply under this advertisement. Shortlisting for the Mains exam will be done category-wise, based on the normalized PET-2025 score, taking in 15 times the number of posts up to the final cut-off mark (normalized score, to 2 decimal places). Candidates who scored zero or negative in either their actual or normalized PET-2025 score will not be shortlisted. Candidates marked Under Investigation (UI) or Provisional have also been given provisional permission to apply, but their final shortlisting and selection will depend on the outcome of the Commission's verification.

Age Limit for UPSSSC LEO 2026

Date of birth recognition: only the date of birth recorded on the High School or equivalent examination certificate will be accepted — no other record will be considered valid.

Educational Qualification

Livestock Extension Officer (LEO): Intermediate (10+2) with the Biology group from the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, or an equivalent examination recognized by the government, AND a 2-year Diploma in Livestock Extension from a veterinary university/college established by law — both are mandatory. Knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script is also required. (Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department, Livestock Extension & Poultry Development Service Rules, 2002, Part-4, Rule-8)

Preferential Qualification: As per Part-4, Rule-9 of the Rules, other things being equal, preference will be given to candidates who have: served a minimum of two years in the Territorial Army; OR hold an NCC 'B' Certificate; OR have completed 15 years of continuous active service as a Veterinary Dresser Class-1 and Class-2 in the Remount Veterinary Corps along with a High School (Science/Agriculture subject) pass or equivalent.

Two eligibility points deserve special attention: first, candidates flagged UI/Provisional in PET-2025 are provisionally allowed to apply, but their final selection depends entirely on the outcome of the Commission's verification — if found ineligible during verification, the candidature will be automatically rejected. Second, the educational qualification requires holding both Intermediate with the Biology group and the 2-year Diploma in Livestock Extension together — candidates holding only one of the two will not be considered eligible.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Pay Scale & Salary

Basic pay at Level-5 starts at ₹29,200. The Uttar Pradesh government's Dearness Allowance (DA) rate effective from 1 January 2026 is 60% — this is added to basic pay to arrive at gross pay, on top of which House Rent Allowance (HRA, at 8/16/24% depending on the posting city's class) and Travel Allowance (TA) are added. On this basis, a Livestock Extension Officer's starting gross pay works out to roughly ₹46,000 – ₹51,000, and after NPS contribution and other standard deductions, the expected monthly in-hand salary is approximately ₹42,000 – ₹47,000. This figure will vary with posting location and applicable deductions.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Selection Process

Selection will be governed by the Uttar Pradesh Group 'C' Posts Direct Recruitment (Procedure) Rules, 2015, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate-Level Posts Direct Recruitment (Discontinuation of Interview) Rules, 2017, and the two-tier examination system (PET + Mains).

The UPSSSC LEO 2026 selection process runs in two stages — the first stage was PET-2025, in which candidates were shortlisted category-wise at 15 times the vacancies based on their normalized score. The second and final stage is this written Mains exam, which will test subject knowledge, Computer/IT, and Uttar Pradesh General Knowledge. There is no interview in this recruitment — the final merit list will be based entirely on marks scored in the Mains exam.

2. Log in: Log in using your PET-2025 registration number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number/email.
3. Fill the application: Your personal details from PET-2025 will auto-populate. You must select the advertised post and fill in the educational qualification details.
4. Check photo & signature: The photo and signature uploaded during PET-2025 will auto-display — no changes are possible here.
5. Fill other details: Select your preferential qualification, if any; your permanent and correspondence address will auto-display.
6. Submit the declaration: Read the declaration carefully, tick all checkboxes, enter the verification code, and click Save and Submit.
7. Pay the fee: Pay via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan. The application is auto-submitted once payment is confirmed.
8. Download and print: Downloading and printing the application form is mandatory.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 Admit Card – How to Download

The UPSSSC LEO 2026 Mains exam admit card has not been released yet. It will be made available at upsssc.gov.in before the exam, but shortlisted candidates must first pay the separate Mains exam fee before it can be downloaded. UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Exam Pattern

The Mains exam will consist of a single paper with a total of 100 questions, 100 marks, and a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes). All questions will be objective, multiple-choice (MCQ), each carrying 1 mark. A negative marking of 25% (1/4) will apply for every wrong answer.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Application Correction

Correction is possible only after the application has been finally submitted. Log in to the Applicant's Dashboard using your PET registration number, click "Modify Application," enter the verification code, receive the OTP, and submit. Only the following details can be corrected: correspondence address; EWS and horizontal reservation category details (PwD, Ex-Servicemen, gender, Outstanding Sportsperson, etc.); mandatory preferential qualification details; and marital status. This correction is possible only until 06 October 2026; no correction will be entertained after this in any circumstance, and no representation on this matter will be accepted.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Reservation Provisions

• SC/OBC/ST/EWS categories will be entitled to reservation as per the government's latest orders.
• EWS reservation: 10% reservation is admissible where the family's total annual income from all sources is below ₹8 lakh and the conditions of the Uttar Pradesh Public Services (EWS Reservation) Act, 2020 are met. The EWS certificate must be issued between 01 April 2026 and 29 September 2026, based on FY 2025-26 income, and must be valid for FY 2026-27.
• Dependents of Freedom Fighters and Ex-Servicemen: reservation is admissible as per the Uttar Pradesh Public Services (Reservation for Physically Handicapped, Dependents of Freedom Fighters and Ex-Servicemen) Act, 1993 (as amended).
• PwD reservation: 4% horizontal reservation across Groups A, B, C, and D is admissible per various government orders issued by the Divyangjan Empowerment Section-3 (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026) and the Karmik Section-2 office memorandum dated 18 April 2022.
• Women's reservation: admissible per the Personnel Department's government orders dated 26 February 1999 (as amended) and 26 June 2019, subject to the final decision in Special Appeal (Defective) No. 475/2019, currently pending before the Hon'ble High Court.
• Outstanding Sportsperson reservation: admissible as per the Uttar Pradesh Government Departments (Direct Recruitment of Outstanding Sportspersons to Group-C Posts) Rules, 2022.
• Candidates claiming more than one reserved category will be given only one (the most beneficial) relaxation.
• Candidates who are not domiciled in Uttar Pradesh are not entitled to reservation benefits — such candidates will be treated as unreserved.
• In the case of female candidates, only a caste certificate issued from the father's side will be considered valid.

UPSSSC LEO 2026 – Other Important Instructions

• Employees in state government service will get a 5-year relaxation in the maximum age limit.
• Candidates already employed with the central/state government must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer and produce it when demanded.
• Self-attested copies of mark sheets, certificates, and degrees must be produced when demanded, to confirm age and educational qualification.
• No change in exam centre, date, or time will be permitted under any circumstances.
• Candidature will be rejected for not stating date of birth on the application, being underage/overage, not holding the mandatory educational qualification, or providing incorrect information.
• Candidates providing false information may be debarred from this exam as well as all other examinations and selections conducted by the Commission.
• Candidates involved in bigamy (more than one marriage) will be deemed ineligible, unless a special exemption has been granted by the Governor.
• Candidature will be rejected for malpractice, indiscipline, or misconduct during the exam, and the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 will apply.
• If more than one application is submitted, only the last submitted application will be considered valid; all others will be treated as cancelled.
