KTET Cut Off 2026 – Category-Wise Qualifying Marks

Unlike a competitive rank exam, KTET does not prepare a merit list. Every candidate is measured against a fixed qualifying mark, and anyone who meets or exceeds it for their category is declared qualified — there is no limit on how many candidates can pass.

CategoryQualifying PercentageMarks Out of 150
General / Out-of-State60%90
OBC55%82
SC55%82
ST55%82
OEC (Other Eligible Community)55%82
PH (Persons with Disability)55%82

It's worth noting that the PH category's qualifying mark has not stayed constant across recent years — some earlier KTET cycles applied a lower threshold (around 50%) for PH candidates, while the current qualifying mark places PH in the same 55% bracket as SC/ST/OBC/OEC candidates. Candidates comparing their own older certificates against this session's result should keep that shift in mind rather than assuming the PH threshold has always been 55%.

What Happens After You Qualify KTET 2026

Qualifying KTET does not by itself get you a teaching job — it makes you eligible to apply for one. Candidates who meet the qualifying marks need to visit their District Education Office (DEO) for document verification to receive the official KTET eligibility certificate. Once issued, this certificate carries lifetime validity and can be used to apply for Lower Primary, Upper Primary, and High School teacher posts advertised by the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC), as well as posts in government-aided schools.

Candidates who do not meet the qualifying marks in this session are not barred permanently — KTET is conducted periodically, and unsuccessful candidates can reappear in a future session.
