Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU Consortium) is the body that conducts CLAT — the national entrance test used for admission to 5-year integrated undergraduate law programmes and the LLM programme at 24 National Law Universities across India (except NLU Delhi, which holds a separate test). CLAT 2027 Registration – Now Open

The Consortium of NLUs opened CLAT 2027 registration on 3 August 2026 at 10:00 AM. Eligible candidates can apply online for the 5-year Integrated UG law programmes and the LLM programme through 31 October 2026. The exam itself is scheduled for Sunday, 6 December 2026.

7. Pay the application fee: Pay ₹4,000 (₹3,500 for SC/ST/BPL) online before the 31 October 2026 deadline.

CLAT 2027 – Exam Pattern & Section-Wise Weightage

The Consortium has confirmed the CLAT 2027 exam pattern, syllabus, and marking scheme carry no changes from the previous session. The paper has 120 multiple-choice questions, all comprehension passage-based, to be attempted in 120 minutes. The question paper is available in English only, and the exam is conducted offline using a pen-and-paper OMR sheet.

Marking scheme: +1 mark for every correct answer, -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer, and no penalty for questions left unattempted.
