NTA NEET UG 2026 – What Qualified Candidates Should Know
Qualifying the NEET UG exam is only the first step. The allocation of medical seats is strictly managed through a highly structured counseling process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will administer counseling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, 100% Deemed/Central Universities (DU, AMU, BHU), ESIC, AFMC, AIIMS, and JIPMER. Candidates must register at mcc.nic.in as soon as the schedule is announced.
For the remaining 85% State Quota seats, candidates must apply through their respective State Medical Counselling authorities. Ensure that you monitor your state's Directorate of Medical Education (DME) website closely.
NTA has issued a strict advisory regarding counseling fraud. Admissions are based only on the official merit rank through authorized portals. The NTA strongly warns candidates against fraudulent calls, fake admission letters, or websites claiming to guarantee medical seats or "upgrade" NEET scores. Never share your login credentials or pay unauthorized agents.
