NTA NTET 2026 – What Qualified Candidates Should Know
Candidates who secure a minimum of 50% marks are considered NTET qualified. The NTET eligibility certificate acquired through this examination will remain valid for a period of ten years from the date of qualifying. It is important to note that if a person fails to join a teaching position within ten years, or takes a break of ten years or more from the teaching profession, they will be required to qualify the NTET again.
The issuance of the final electronic certificate depends on the candidate's degree status at the time of application. Qualified candidates who already hold their PG degree will be able to download their NTET Certificate directly after the publication of results, from a date specified by the NCISM. However, PG students who qualified while in the final phase of their studies must first upload their provisional or final Post-Graduate degree certificate to the portal before their NTET Certificate is generated and released.
Once the certificate is secured, candidates are eligible to apply independently for entry-level academic positions—such as Assistant Professor—across government and private Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathic medical colleges in India. The NTET certificate itself does not guarantee a job or deployment; it serves as the mandatory minimum teaching eligibility standard under NCISM Act regulations.
