SSC Delhi Police Constable Driver – What Qualified Candidates Should Know
Candidates finally selected for the post of Constable (Driver) in Delhi Police are placed in Pay Level-3 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), holding a basic pay scale of ₹21,700 – ₹69,100. Because Delhi is an "X" class city, personnel receive the highest tier of House Rent Allowance (HRA at 30% of basic) and Transport Allowance, in addition to standard Dearness Allowance (DA). Furthermore, Delhi Police personnel receive a specific Ration Money Allowance (RMA) and an extra month's pay annually (Uniform/Kit maintenance allowance), making the initial gross monthly salary approximately ₹38,000 – ₹42,000.
The final selection was an exhaustive process. Candidates first cleared the CBT, then the Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT). The crucial differentiator for this specific role was the Trade Test (Driving Skill Test), carrying 150 marks.
