What Shortlisted Candidates Should Know
Candidates who have successfully cleared the CBE cut-off are now provisionally eligible for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT), which will be organized and conducted directly by the Delhi Police. The PE&MT is qualifying in nature, meaning no marks are awarded, but failing it results in immediate elimination from the recruitment process.
Physical Standards Overview:
- Male Candidates: Must meet a minimum height of 170 cm and a chest measurement of 81-85 cm. Age-adjusted physical endurance requirements include a 1600m race, long jump, and high jump.
- Female Candidates: Must meet a minimum height of 157 cm. Their physical endurance requirements involve an 800m race, long jump, and high jump tailored to their age group.
Candidates who clear the PE&MT will face the subsequent Trade Test. This involves reading and dictation assessments to evaluate the capability to receive and transmit messages efficiently. Furthermore, candidates must pass a Test of Proficiency in Computer Operation, which requires a typing speed of 1000 key depressions in 15 minutes (in English) and testing basic knowledge of MS Office features.
Appointed Head Constables (AWO/TPO) are placed in Pay Level 4 of the 7th CPC (₹25,500 – ₹81,100). With standard central government allowances including Dearness Allowance, HRA (at Delhi rates), and Transport Allowance, the initial gross monthly salary is highly competitive and offers robust career stability within the national capital's primary law enforcement agency.
