Candidates who appeared for the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) exam across various subjects can now check their qualifying status and merit lists at upessc.up.gov.in. The recruitment drive (Advt No. 01/2022) was initiated back in June 2022 for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree and a B.Ed qualification. UP TGT 2022 – Eligibility Criteria & Application Fee

A brief recap of the eligibility standards: candidates were required to hold a Bachelor's Degree in the relevant subject along with a B.Ed degree. The minimum age limit was 21 years as of 01 July 2022, with no upper age limit specified. The application fee was ₹750 for General/OBC candidates, ₹450 for EWS/SC candidates, and ₹250 for ST candidates.

UP TGT 2022 – What Happens After the Result

Candidates whose roll numbers feature in the subject-wise merit lists are shortlisted for the mandatory Document Verification (DV) round. The UPESSC has officially announced that the DV process will commence on 09 July 2026 and conclude on 17 July 2026. The verification will take place at the commission's office located at 23, Alanganj, Prayagraj. Candidates can download their official DV call letters starting 01 July 2026 directly from the UPESSC website.

The UPESSC chairman has advised shortlisted candidates to appear with all educational, reservation, and other required documents on the scheduled date and time. The final selection results will be declared shortly after the completion of the document verification process.

UP TGT 2022 – What Qualified Candidates Should Know

Teachers appointed under the UP TGT 2022 recruitment drive are placed in Pay Level-7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), holding a Grade Pay of ₹4,600. The basic pay starts at ₹44,900 and scales up to ₹1,42,400. Factoring in current state Dearness Allowance (DA) rates, House Rent Allowance (HRA), and standard deductions, the expected initial in-hand salary falls approximately between ₹60,000 and ₹65,000 per month, varying slightly based on the city/town classification of the posted school.

A crucial element of the UP TGT selection process is that interviews have been abolished for Trained Graduate Teachers. Final merit is determined entirely out of 500 marks based on the written examination (125 questions of 4 marks each). There is no negative marking. Ad-hoc teachers (Shikshamitras) who appeared for the exam receive additional weightage marks based on their years of service, which is factored directly into this 500-mark final computation.

Selected candidates will be deployed exclusively to Government-Aided Secondary Schools (Ashaaskiya Sahayata Prapt Madhyamik Vidyalayas) across Uttar Pradesh. The final institution allocation is done via a centralized panel system by UPESSC, generally based on the candidate's merit rank and the preferences submitted during the choice-filling stage. Candidates are strictly advised to attend their Document Verification; failure to appear on the scheduled DV date may result in forfeiting their claim for the post, and waiting list candidates will be considered instead.
