The 85 posts are divided between Group A positions in the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and Group B positions in the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB). The upper age limit for all posts was 32 years as of 01 January 2026.

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist 2026 – What Qualified Candidates Should Know

Candidates who have qualified the Mains examination will now be called for the final stage: the Personality Test (Interview). The interview carries 200 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks) and evaluates the candidate's scientific aptitude, leadership qualities, mental alertness, and capacity for field operations.
