UP TGT PGT Syllabus 2026 – Why It Matters Now
UPESSC has released this syllabus ahead of the formal recruitment notification for the new TGT/PGT cycle, which is expected to bring 20,340+ combined vacancies. This is separate from the ongoing 2022-cycle recruitment (Advt. UP TGT PGT 2026 – Exam Pattern
The UP TGT and PGT written exam is conducted offline in pen-and-paper (OMR) mode and consists of objective-type (multiple-choice) questions. In the 2022 cycle, the TGT written exam carried 500 marks in total, and the PGT exam had no negative marking for wrong or unattempted answers. The exact marks distribution, number of questions, and duration for the new 2026 cycle will be confirmed once UPESSC releases the formal recruitment notification.
UP TGT PGT 2026 – What Candidates Should Know Next
Selected TGT and PGT candidates are placed in government and government-aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh under the state pay matrix; PGT-level pay in the 2022 cycle ranged from approximately ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100 per month as per the 7th Pay Commission scale, with TGT pay one level below PGT. Selection typically runs through a written exam followed by document verification — there is no interview stage for TGT/PGT recruitment. Since the new 2026 notification has not been released yet, candidates should treat this syllabus as a preparation head start: build a subject-wise study plan now, and watch for the official notification, application window, and exam date once UPESSC confirms them on upessc.up.gov.in.
